Water ladled onto the hot stones, with two people on the benches and the lake through the window
How it works

The ritual

01

Heat

Up to fifteen minutes on the wooden benches. Let the stove do the work.

02

Cold

Step out into the cold plunge. Before 10am, the lake is yours too.

03

Breathe

Sit by the water for a while and let your heart rate settle.

04

Repeat

Go round again, as many times as your session allows.

Bring swimwear, two towels (one to sit on), a water bottle and sliders. There are changing rooms by the bus, more changing and hot showers in the lake’s clubhouse, and a café and toilets on site. Arrive ten minutes early. Over-16s only.

Before you come

Good to know

The lake

A dip before 10

A dip in Bray Lake is part of your booking from 8:30am to 10am. Longer swims are run separately by Bray Lake Watersports.

Ages

Over-16s only

16 and 17-year-olds are welcome with an adult, one per adult.

Health

Check first

Pregnant, a heart or circulation condition, on medication or unsure about heat? Check with your GP before booking.

On the bus

House rules

Swimwear on, and sit on a towel. No alcohol, glass, smoking or vaping. Phones stay out of the sauna.

The heat

70 to 90°C

Usually 70 to 80°C. It can reach 90°C, depending on the time of day and the session.

Changing

By the bus

Changing rooms are next to the bus. There’s more changing, with hot showers, in the lake’s clubhouse.

Weather

Rain or shine

We’re open whatever the weather. A cold, grey day is one of the best times for a sauna.

Access

Wheelchairs

We’re sorry, the bus isn’t wheelchair accessible. Any other question about access, send us a message.

Changing your booking

If plans change

There are only eight places on the bus, so a late cancellation is hard to fill. Full details are in our terms.

Up to four people

Open sessions

Non-refundable, but you can move your booking once if you ask more than 48 hours before it starts.

Five or more, and private hire

Groups

A refund, minus a 2.5% bank fee, if you cancel more than 14 days before. After that it’s non-refundable, though we’ll try to move it for you.

Running late

Late arrival

Sessions finish on time because the next group is waiting, so arriving late means less time in the heat.
